Abstract

Using nanofibrillated cellulose(NFC)as natural polymer additives,mixed with pulp,the shell-formed full-fiber paper-based dust suppressant with excellent performances was prepared by optimizing the dosage of NFC and spraying quantity of paper-based dust suppres-sant.The applicability of it was discussed by comprehensive morphology characterization,seed germination experiment,and outdoor field experiment.The results showed that when the dosage of NFC(relative to the mass of adiabatic pulp)was 6%,the paper-based dust suppres-sant was sprayed on the sand surface(spraying quantity of 5 L/m2),which could form a dense and high-strength fiber film shell.Compared with the paper-based dust suppressant without NFC,the compressive property of the film shell increased from 510 kPa to 1 470 kPa.The wind resistance was significantly improved,and the sand loss rate was decreased from 32.8%to almost 0(sand loss rate of 0.41%).The rain erosion resistance was increased from 78.1%to 90.3%.The anti-evaporation performance was more excellent,and the water evaporation rate was significantly reduced.Adding NFC to the paper-based dust suppressant could promote the formation of a denser film shell micro-structure,thereby enhancing the bonding strength between pulp fibers and improving the performances of the paper-based dust suppressant.The film shell formed by the paper-based dust suppressant could achieve the effect of long-term suppression of dust pollution,and had no ef-fect on plant seed germination and seedling growth.
