Screening and Evaluation of Shade-Tolerant Peanut Germplasm Suitable for Intercropping

Abstract
In order to analyze the effects of intercropping patterns on agronomic and yield traits of peanut,screen the identi-fication indexes of shade tolerance,and then screen the shade-tolerant peanut germplasm suitable for intercropping with maize,86 peanut backbone germplasms in Yunnan Province were used as materials,and two planting patterns of peanut-maize intercropping and peanut monoculture were set up.The main agronomic and economic traits of peanut at maturity stage were compared and analyzed,and the multivariate statistical analysis methods such as principal component analysis,cluster analysis,stepwise regression analysis and membership function method were used for comprehensive evaluation.The results showed that the peanut-maize intercropping pattern significantly affected the yield,productivity per plant and pod number per plant of peanut compared with the peanut monoculture pattern.Principal component analysis transformed 10 ag-ronomic and economic traits into 4 independent comprehensive indexes,representing 71.46%of the total data.86 peanut germplasms were divided into four categories by cluster analysis based on shade tolerance evaluation value(D),and 6 strong shade tolerant germplasms(D≥0.57)were screened out.The optimal mathematical model of peanut shade tole-rance evaluation was established by stepwise regression analysis,and five peanut shade tolerance identification indexes were screened out,including lateral branch length,total branch number,main stem node number,pod number per plant and SPAD.In the shade environment of peanut-maize intercropping,the mathematical model can be used to evaluate the shade tolerance of peanut by measuring these five indexes.Among the six strong shade-tolerant germplasms,Yunhua No.24,Guihua 376,Quanhua 801 and Yunhuasheng No.15 could be directly applied to peanut-maize intercropping,and germ-plasm 439 and Z25 could be used as the backbone parents for the cultivation of shade-tolerant varieties.关键词
