Regulation of deoxynivalenol biosynthesis and its role in wheat head blight occurrence
摘要
Abstract
Fusarium head blight(FHB)caused by Fusarium graminearum,the dominant species in Fusarium species complexes,is a worldwide fungal disease of crops.This fungal disease has spread widely across China,resulting in a substantial reduction in wheat yields.More seriously,F.gra-minearum produces mycotoxins,including deoxynivalenol(DON)which facilitates the extension of invasive hyphae on wheat heads.The accumulation of these mycotoxins in wheat presents a significant risk to both human and animal health.This review summarizes recent advances in the research on fac-tors and mechanisms that trigger the DON production,the regulation of DON biosynthesis by intracellu-lar signaling,the role of DON in wheat infection,the targeted modulation of host resistance by DON,as well as the genes involved in DON transport and degradation.Furthermore,this review also highlights crucial aspects in the regulation of DON biosynthesis and outlines future directions for controlling its production,offering a theoretical basis for developing effective disease management and mycotoxin control strategies.关键词
