Financial driving force of low-carbon living:Study on the impact of green finance on household consumption carbon emissions
摘要
Abstract
The phenomenon of high-carbon emissions caused by household consumption has already become a non-negligible part of the growth of total carbon emissions.By constructing a green finance indicator system and based on China's multi regional input-output table and indirect carbon emissions data from household consumption in 30 provinces,regions,and municipalities from 2010 to 2021,this paper empirically investigated the impact and mechanism of green finance on indirect carbon emissions from household con-sumption.The results found that:① Green finance could effectively curb indirect carbon emissions from household consumption.② The impact of green finance on various types of consumer carbon emissions varied.Specifically,green finance had a significant inhibitory effect on carbon emissions from development oriented consumption and enjoyment oriented consumption,while its inhibitory effect on carbon emissions from survival oriented consumption was not significant.③ The upgrading of residents' consumption structure played a mediating role in the impact of green finance on residents' consumption carbon emissions.Green finance promoted the upgrading of con-sumption structure,which in turn affected the carbon emissions of residents' consumption.Therefore,to achieve the"dual carbon"goal,society as a whole should foster a green consumption mindset and promote the upgrading of the consumption structure.Governments and financial institutions must continue to strengthen the development of green finance,particularly by innovating more green finance prod-ucts and services tailored to household consumption.关键词
