Abstract

Objective:By exploring the effect of total flavonoids from Dahurian Rose Fruit on hyperuricemia induced by potassium oxonate in mice,the anti hyperuricemia effect of total flavonoids from Rosa rugosa was verified.Methods:Sixty SPF-grade mice were randomly divided into six groups:blank control group,model group,positive drug group,and Dahurian Rose Fruit high-,medium-,and low-dose groups,with 10 mice per group.Except for the blank control group,all groups received 400 μL of 500 mg/kg potassium oxonate by gavage to establish hyperuricemia models.After 1-hour intervals,treatment groups received 400 μL of Dahurian Rose Fruit extract(1 g/mL,0.6 g/mL,or 0.3 g/mL)or 5 mg/kg allopurinol suspension,while the blank and model groups received 400 μL PBS solution by gavage once daily for 7 consecutive days.Behavioral status of the mice,organ indices,serum uric acid levels,hepatic xanthine oxidase activity,and renal histopathology(HE staining)were compared among groups.Results:All Dahurian Rose Fruit dose groups significantly reduced serum uric acid levels(P<0.05,P<0.01)and inhibited hepatic xanthine oxidase activity(P<0.05,P<0.01),while ameliorating renal tissue damage induced by hyperuricemia,demonstrating renal protective effects.Conclusion:Dahurian Rose Fruit effectively lowers uric acid and alleviates hyperuricemia-induced hepatic and renal damage.This study provides scientific evidence for the development and utilization of Dahurian Rose Fruit.
