Calculation of sedimentation and erosion volume in designated area for offshore wind turbine pile foundations

Abstract
Offshore wind turbine pile foundations are often calculated for sedimentation and erosion volume in the designated area using a digital terrain model combined with the two-dimensional(2D)whitening boundary method.However,this method generates gaps at the boundary when constructing the triangular mesh,leading to errors in the calculation results.To address this issue,this paper proposed the use of a spatial interpolation method to construct a three-dimensional(3D)whitening boundary,thus effectively improving the accuracy of sedimentation and erosion volume calculations.Taking into account factors such as the point cloud density,missing points around the interpolation points,and the terrain distribution,twelve experimental schemes were formulated to explore the interpolation accuracy of five terrain interpolation models.The results show that radial basis function(RBF)and ordinary Kriging provide high interpolation accuracy and are recommended for scenarios where terrain information is insufficient in the study area.For situations with dense modeling point clouds,minimal terrain fluctuations,and fewer missing points around the interpolation areas,triangulation linear interpolation,natural neighbor interpolation,and inverse distance weighting models should be considered in sequence.关键词
