Origin and Development of"Premature Breakage of Menstrual Fluid"

Abstract
Objective:By sorting out the ancient Chinese medical literature,the development and evolution process of the disease name"premature breakage of menstrual flow"was clarified,so as to provide a reference for finding a traditional Chinese medical name corresponding to the western medical name"premature ovarian failure".Methods:The electronic database of Chinese philosophy books,Zhonghua Yidian,CNKI,Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform and VIP databases were searched to collect the related discussion of"premature breakage of menstrual flow",and to tease out and analyze the characteristics of the period,so as to clarify the development source of the disease name"premature breakage of menstrual flow".Results:A total of 240 works were reviewed,among which there were 3 works and 29 entries related to"premature breakage of menstrual flow"in the Qin and Han dynasties;42 and 160 entries from the Han dynasty to the Jin and Yuan dynasties;81 works and 110 entries in the Ming and Qing dynasties.Conclusion:The understanding of"premature breakage of menstrual flow"in Chinese medicine history started in the pre-Qin Dynasty,and the theory of disease name and pathogenesis has been innovated from generation to generation,with clearer naming and pathogenesis elaborated in the Qing Dynasty.Combined with the western medical understanding of this disease,it is recommended to use"premature breakage of menstrual flow"as the TCM name for"premature ovarian failure".关键词
