Abstract
Landscape performance encompasses landscape benefits that include environmental,social and economic aspects and can be used to measure the sustainability of landscape development.The research on landscape performance can clarify the landscape characteristics,enhance the sustainability of the landscape,and create a higher performance landscape.This paper discusses the importance of evaluating the social performance of urban squares,takes the Central Square of Huiquan Square in Qingdao as the object for study,and systematically evaluates its social performance by using methods such as literature reading,field investigation and questionnaires.The results of the study show that Huiquan Square performs well in meeting the needs of citizens for socializing,entertainment and leisure,but still has problems,such as the unobvious features of the venue,single function and insufficient maintenance.This paper puts forward the suggestions for improvement in terms of increasing the site's educational nature,enriching the site's plants and optimizing the site's public facilities,with a view to improve the square's social performance and to promote the sustainable development of urban public space.关键词
