The Mechanism of Digital Platforms Empowering Digital Transformation in Manufacturing Enterprises:A Multiple-case Exploratory Study

Abstract
In the digital economy era,digital transformation has become a strategic imperative for manufacturing enterprises to reconstruct competitive advantages,yet the operational mechanisms of digital platforms as key enablers in this process remain inadequately elucidated.From the perspectives of platform empowerment and dynamic capability integration,this study adopts embedded multi-case study method to deeply analyse the process mecha-nism of digital platform promoting the digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises.The study finds that digital platform empowerment follows the intrinsic evolution mechanism of"platform empowerment-dynamic capability enhancement-transformation performance".With its digital technology-re-lated features and attributes,the digital platform has structural empowerment,resource empowerment,and data empowerment capabilities,which can promote the formation and enhancement of dynamic capabilities such as digital capability,innovation capability,and value co-creation capability,ac-celerate the process of enterprise digital transformation,and ultimately empower enterprises to enhance operational efficiency and value output.This study reveals the"black box"of the process of transforming the digital platform application of manufacturing enterprises to the value of digital transfor-mation,and enriches and expands the theory of enterprise digital transformation in the digital context.关键词
