Zircon U-Pb geochronology,petrogeochemistry and geological significance of the concealed granite in Shilei tungsten deposit,southern Jiangxi Province

Abstract

The Shilei tungsten deposit is located in the Chong-Yu-You tungsten-tin polymetallic ore cluster in the southern Jiangxi Province,which is in the eastern section of the Nanling metallogenic belt.Its mineralization is closely related to the concealed granite in the Shilei deposit.At present,There is a lack of constraints on the characteristics of this concealed granite,such as its formation age,genetic type,and formation environment.This paper has carried out zircon U-Pb chronology and petrogeochemistry analyses on the concealed granite.Results show that the Shilei granite is enriched in Si and Fe,but depleted in P and Mg,belonging to the high-K calc-alkaline series with weak peraluminous characteristics.The granitic differentiation index ranges from 92.18 to 94.68,indicating that it has experienced a significant degree of magmatic differentiation evolution.The rare earth elements of Shilei granite range from 98.45×l0-6 to 148.67×10-6.The ratio of LREE/HREE is relatively low(0.45 to 1.74).The rocks exhibit strong negative Eu anomalies(0.02 to 0.10).Moreover,in terms of trace elements,the concealed granite of Shilei shows a deficiency in high field strength elements(HFSE,e.g.,Ti,Zr,Nb),as well as elements like Ba and P.This study determines the intrusion ages of the concealed granite of Shilei as follows:biotite granite(158.2±1.6 Ma)→two-mica granite(157.5±1.4 Ma)→muscovite granite(156.5±1.4 Ma),illustrating the crystallization and differentiation evolution of granitic magma at different stages during the same period.The diagenetic and metallogenic processes in the Shilei deposit occurred during the Late Jurassic in an intra-plate extensional environment,driven by the"comprehensive extension and thinning"of the lithosphere and the upwelling of the asthenosphere in the mantle.The average diagenetic temperature of the three types of granite ranges from 769 ℃ to 780 ℃,and the oxygen fugacity logfo2 is relatively low(-15.21 to-14.13).The average value of Zr+Nb+Ce+Y is 267.04×10-6,while the zircon Ce4+/Ce3+ratio is low(31.06 to 93.6).Based on various analyses,we conclude that the concealed granite can be classified as a highly differentiated Ⅰ-type granite.The highly crystallized differentiation and low oxygen fugacity conditions of the concealed granite ensure the enrichment and mineralization of tungsten elements in the late stage of magma evolution.
