Abstract

As the exploration and development objectives of the Sulige gas field in Su 54 block are gradually turning to natural gas-water coexisting layers and water-bearing gas layers,these related members show that the number of drilled wells with higher water proportion are increasing,facing the problem of poor connectivity of effective sand bodies,and strongly heterogeneous reservoirs.Furthermore,there are still great controversies on the recognition of the depositional facies types and sedimentary evolution in He-8,Shan-1,and Shan-2 members,as the main exploration units.Based on the theory of sedimentology on siliciclastic,and depositional indicators from both cores and drilling well data,the facies analysis of single well and correlation profiles was implemented.The ratio of the thickness of sand bodies to that of the strata were counted,and the boundaries of sedimentary microenvironment of midchannel bar or point bar were drawn above the threshold value of 30%.The study shows that Shan-2 to He-8 members of Su 54 is fluvial deposits,in which the early stage(Shan-1,Shan-2)and the late stage(lower unit of He-8 member)are mainly characterized by meandering river point bars and flood plains,while the middle stage(upper unit of He-8)is characterized by braided river mid-channel and basin plains.The point bars are characterized by high-amplitude serrated or smooth bell-shaped;the mid-channel bars are mainly characterized by serrated or smooth box-shape.In the lower unit of He-8,thick sand bodies with a large extent area developed in plan-view map,superimposed thick-bedded sand bodies are well developed.The lateral bar deposits of the meandering rivers in Shan-2 and Shan-1 members,and the upper unit of He-8 member,are superimposed vertically and connected laterally.In some well areas of Shan-1,sand bodies are commonly developed.The sand bodies of the mid-channels bars and lateral bars have been acted as the main reservoirs for natural gas exploration of the Upper Paleozoic in the study area.
