Reduced-order Modelling Method for Dry-type Transformers Using Double Proper Orthogonal Decomposition

Abstract
Proper orthogonal decomposition(POD)method has been applied to establish reduced-order models of transformer temperature fields due to its computational efficiency and accuracy in calculating physical fields.The existing POD reduced-order model is incapable of simulating the transient temperature fields of transformers under different operating conditions.Therefore,this paper proposes a reduced-order modelling method adaptable to various transformer operating conditions by developing a reduced-order model for transformer temperature fields calculation based on double proper orthogonal decomposition(DPOD).Firstly,a reduced-order model for dry transformers based on POD is established under rated conditions.Secondly,the accuracy of this reduced-order model is calculated at varying loads and inlet wind speeds.Finally,the reduced-order models for dry-type transformers based on DPOD are established under conditions of load variations and inlet wind speed variations respectively to verify the accuracy of the reduced-order models under these conditions and compare them with the POD-based reduced-order models.The results indicate that the newly established model can maintain the accuracy of temperature field calculations when the operating conditions of the transformers change.关键词
