摘要

Abstract

To evaluate intraspecific variation,Paeonia ludlowii leaves from five natural populations were subjected to morphological and biochemical analyses,focusing on traits including leaf thickness,upper and lower epidermal thickness,palisade and spongy tissue thickness,and the palisade-to-spongy(P/S)ratio.Classical allometric equations were employed to analyze trait relationships.Results revealed significant interspecific variation in leaf thickness and lower epidermal thickness(P<0.05).Strong positive correlations were detected between leaf thickness and spongy tissue(P<0.01),palisade tissue and P/S ratio(P<0.05),and palisade tissue and mesophyll tightness(P<0.01).Spongy tissue thickness positively correlated with mesophyll porosity(P<0.01).All anatomical traits exhibited low to moderate variability(CV=0.03~0.39),indicating evolutionary stability.Allometric analysis demonstrated significant positive scaling between epidermal layers(P<0.01),contrasting with negative relationships between lower epidermis/palisade tissue and palisade tissue/leaf thickness(P<0.05).Environmental analysis showed lower epidermal thickness decreased with elevation(P<0.05),while other traits(excluding mesophyll porosity)displayed non-significant altitudinal trends.These findings suggest P.ludlowii adapts to environmental heterogeneity through coordinated adjustments in leaf structural traits,optimizing allometric growth patterns across habitats.
