Abstract

Soil amendment and foliar passivation are two commonly used techniques for the safe utilization of contaminated farmland.To investigate the effects of combined application of soil amendments and foliar inhibitors at different dosages on cadmium(Cd)content in rice grains and soil bioavailable Cd under a rice-rapeseed rotation system in strictly regulated farm-land of Suiyang County,a field experiment was conducted with the following treatments:T1(soil amendment:100 kg/667 m2+foliar inhibitor:500 mL/667 m2),T2(soil amendment:200 kg/667 m2+foliar inhibitor:1 000 mL/667 m2),and a control(ck).The results showed that the Cd content in rice grains followed the order:T2<T1<ck,with values of 0.17 mg/kg,0.26 mg/kg and 0.39 mg/kg,respectively.Compared to ck,T2 and T1 reduced grain Cd content by 56.4%and 33.3%,respectively,with T2 achieving an additional 23.1 percentage point reduction over T1.Notably,the Cd content in T2-treated rice fell below the national food safety threshold(0.2 mg/kg).Similarly,soil bioavailable Cd content exhibited T2(0.25 mg/kg)<T1(0.31 mg/kg)<ck(0.40 mg/kg),corresponding to reductions of 37.5%and 22.5%for T2 and T1,respectively,with T2 outperforming T1 by 15.0 percentage points.In conclusion,the combined application of 200 kg/667 m2 soil amendment+1 000 mL/667 m2 fo-liar inhibitor under rice-rapeseed rotation in strictly regulated farmland significantly reduced grain Cd content below China's food safety limit(<0.2 mg/kg),demonstrating superior remediation efficacy.
