Relationship between fertility stress,stigma and communication patterns in sperm donor insemination couples

Abstract
Objective:Based on the host-guest interdependence mediation model,this study explores the impact of the stigma of couples undergoing donor insemination on their fertility stress and the mediating role of communication patterns in this process.Methods:From August 2021 to August 2024,242 couples undergoing donor insemination at the University were selected as the research subjects through convenient sampling.The Stigma Scale,Fertility Pres-sure Scale,and Couple Communication Mode Scale were used to investigate these couples.The relationship between fertility pressure,stigma,and communication patterns among couples undergoing donor insemination was analyzed.Results:Among 242 couples undergoing donor insemination treatment,the husbands' scores for stigma were(3.72±1.84),for fertility pressure were(136.48±32.24),and for communication patterns were(40.26±8.56).The wives' scores for stigma were(2.85±1.14),for fertility pressure were(133.58±30.18),and for communication patterns were(39.48±8.14).There were statistically significant differences in the fertility pressure scores of the husbands in donor insemination couples with different marriage duration,educational levels,places of residence,personal monthly incomes,presence or absence of children,history of miscarriage(spouse),and causes of infertility(all P＜0.05).The correlation analysis results showed that the fertility pressure of donor insemination couples was positively correlated with stigma and negatively correlated with communication patterns.The results of the actor-partner interdepend-ence mediation analysis indicated that the main effects of stigma on fertility pressure for both husbands and wives were significant,while the partner effects were not significant.The stigma of both husbands and wives in donor in-semination couples could affect their own fertility pressure by influencing their communication patterns.The stigma of the husband in donor insemination couples could also affect the fertility pressure of the wife through the wife's communication patterns.Conclusion:Fertility pressure is high in sperm donor insemination couples,and the sense of shame can directly affect fertility pressure,and it can also affect fertility pressure by influencing the communication pattern,so healthcare professionals and families can formulate relevant measures to improve the level of communica-tion pattern of couples,reduce the sense of shame,and then reduce the fertility pressure.关键词
