Impact of resilience adjustment on self—identity of urological cancer patients:The mediating role of family support and sense of meaning in life

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the impact of resilience adjustment on self-identity among urological cancer patients,with a focus on the mediating role of family support and sense of meaning in life.Methods:From July 2022 to June 2024,a convenience sampling method was employed to select a total of 82 patients with urological tumors from the hospital as the research subjects.The general information questionnaire,Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),Self-Identity Scale(SIS),Family Support Scale(FSQ),and Meaning in Life Scale(MLO)were utilized for investigation purposes.The data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 24.0 to assess the significance of both the mediating and moderating effects.Results:A total of 100 questionnaires were distributed in this survey,and 82 valid questionnaires were collected,resulting in an effective recovery rate of 82.00％.The CD-RISC scores for the sample of 82 urological tumor patients were(64.12±3.16),while the SIS scores were(39.85±4.31).Additionally,the FSQ and MLO scores were(11.67±2.24)and(48.34±4.41),respectively.Resilience among urological tumor patients exhibited a positive correlation with self-identity,family support,and sense of meaning in life(r=0.741,0.706,0.658;P＜0.01).The mediating effect analysis revealed that resilience exerted a direct influence on family support and the sense of meaning in life,with an effect size of 0.247,constituting 34.16％of the total effect(P＜0.01).Addi-tionally,the cumulative mediating effect of self-identity between resilience and both family support and the sense of meaning in life was 0.476,accounting for 65.84％of the total effect(P＜0.01).Conclusion:Family support and sense of meaning in life serve as mediators between psychological resilience and self-identity in patients with urinary sys-tem tumors.By enhancing family support and fostering a stronger sense of meaning in life,the psychological resili-ence of these patients can be significantly improved,which in turn positively impacts their self-identity.This process ultimately encourages patients to confront their illness more proactively and enhances overall treatment outcomes.关键词
