民族学家徐益棠的社会形态学与瑶汉比较研究
Ethnologist Xu Yitang's Social Morphology and Comparative Study of the Yao and Han People
摘要
Abstract
As prominent anthropologist and ethnologist,Xu Yitang conducted pioneering field investiga-tions among the Yao people in the"Nanling Corridor"and emerged as one of the key representatives of the French academic tradition in early 20th-century Chinese ethnology.Despite being a"forgotten aca-demic master,"Xu Yitang exemplified the scholarly aspirations of the French national school,particular-ly in the areas of sociomorphology and comparative studies.Grounded in his empirical research in Dateng Yaoshan,Guangxi,this paper employs textual analysis and horizontal comparison to examine his intellec-tual contributions.It reveals that Xu's academic context represents a seamless integration of Mauss's theoretical framework with his own intellectual history,thereby highlighting his unique research trajectory of that era.Within the broader context of Yao studies,re-engaging with the French influences in Xu Yitang's ethnology not only enriches our understanding of the trajectory of early Chinese academic thought but also extends the horizons of contemporary ethnic studies.关键词
