Molecular Mechanism of Arthrospira platensis Regulating Arabidopsis Growth Based on Transcriptomics

Abstract
The regulatory role of Arthrospira platensis(AP),one of biofertilizers,in promoting plant growth remains elusive.This study focused on the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana,using a combination of physiological assessment and transcriptomic analysis to investigate the influence of different concentrations of AP on plant growth and transcriptome.The results revealed that the promotion of AP on plant growth was dos-age dependent.Compared with the control group,the fresh weight of leaves increased by 44%,the diameter of rosette leaves increased by 38%,and the number of lateral roots increased by 20%when 6 mg of AP per 100 cm2 was applied for Arabidopsis.However,the growth of the main and lateral roots was significantly inhibited by applying 24 mg of AP per 100 cm2 for Arabidopsis.The length of the main and lateral roots both decreased by 50%,but the length of the root hairs increased by 122%.Transcriptomic analysis indicated that lower con-centration of AP might enhance plant growth by modulating the expression of genes required for cell wall syn-thesis and modification.In contrast,higher concentration of AP might inhibit plant growth through influencing various plant hormone signaling pathways and absorbing inorganic salt ions from the culture medium.These re-sults could not only provide a foundational understanding of interaction between algae and plants,but also ben-efit the sustainable utilization of Arthrospira in agriculture.关键词
