Abstract

A cascade reservoir group with the Three Gorges Reservoir as the core has been formed in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River,and their flood control storage capacity jointly undertakes the flood control tasks in the basin.To optimize flood control capabilities and enhance the comprehensive benefits of water resource utilization,this paper introduces the concept of"interoperability"of flood control storage.It delineates the classification of interoperability methods,constructs mutual-use scenarios,and outlines the approach for calculating interoperability coefficients.A calculation framework for the interoperability of flood control storage within the cascade reservoir system is established,optimizing the utilization of flood control storage while maintaining flood control standards.An application case study of the downstream cascade reservoir group of the Jinsha River and the Three Gorges Reservoir is presented to validate the rationality,feasibility,and effectiveness of the proposed technical methods.This study offers valuable insights and serves as a reference for similar research topics and practical applications.
