Abstract
The incidence and prevalence of diabetes mellitus in children may be seriously underestimated due to its insidious onset,atypical early symptoms,and insufficient screening efforts.The duration of diabetes mellitus is positively correlated with the risk of complications.Patients with diabetes mellitus in childhood will have different degrees of diabetic complications in adulthood.Microvascular related complications of diabetes mellitus in children are caused by long-term hyperglycemia leading to abnormal structure and function of microvessels,mainly affecting the kidneys,retina and nerves.These complications not only seriously damage the quality of life and expected survival time of children,but also bring heavy economic burden on the society and family.This article reviews the microvascular related complications of diabetes mellitus in children,such as diabetic retinopathy,diabetic neuropathy,diabetic nephropathy and diabetic myocardial microangiopathy,in order to provide a reference for the early diagnosis and intervention of the complications of this disease,so as to improve the prognosis of children.关键词
