Effects of Baicalin on Growth Performance,Immune Function and Growth-related Hormone Indexes of Weaned Piglets

Abstract
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of baicalin on growth performance,immune function and growth-related hormone indexes of weaned piglets.Thirty-two 21-day-old"long×large"binary weaned piglets were randomly divided into 2 groups(the control group fed only the basal diet and the experimental group fed the basal diet supplemented with 300 mg/kg baicalin).The results showed that compared with the control group,the experimental group significantly increased the average daily gain,weaning survival rate,serum immunoglobulin IgA and IgM contents,serum inflammatory factor IL-10 content,and triiodothyronine,tetraiodothyronine,growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor contents(P＜0.05);significantly decreased the serum inflammatory factor IL-1β and cortisol contents(P＜0.05);The immunoglobulin IgG and serum inflammatory factor IL-6 contents showed no significant difference between the two groups(P＞0.05).In conclusion:It can be seen that adding 300 mg/kg baicalin to the diet of weaned piglets can promote their growth,enhance immune function and increase the contents of growth-related hormones in serum.关键词
