Abstract

Objective:Using composite multiple sensitivity encoding diffusion weighted imaging(MUSE-DWI)to differentiate between benign and malignant breast lesions,especially in BI-RADS 4 lesions.Methods:The clinical data of 115 patients with breast disease treated in General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from June 2020 to June 2023 were retrospec-tively collected,including 60 cases of BI-RADS 4 breast lesions.With pathological biopsy as the gold standard,the cases were divided into two groups:38 cases in benign group and 77 cases in malignant group.We evaluate the differences in av-erage signal intensity of breast lesions under different b-values,and evaluate the diagnosis efficiency by ROC cureve.Results:Under different b-values,the average signal intensity value of malignant group was higher than benign group(P<0.05).With the increase of b-value,the average signal intensity value of malignant group and benign group decreased,with a statistically significant result(P<0.05).The ADC value of the benign group was significantly higher than that of the malignant group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).When comparing different b-values,as the b=2 500 s/mm2,MUSE-DWI has the highest diagnostic efficiency in distinguishing benign and malignant breast lesions,with an AUC of 0.895,and the results are statistically significant(P<0.05);When the b=2 500 s/mm2,MUSE-DWI has the highest diagnostic efficacy in distinguishing benign and malignant BI-RADS 4 breast lesions,and the ROC curve area AUC is 0.831,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:MUSE-DWI sequence can be used for the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast,especially with an average signal intensity value of 2 500 s/mm2,which has higher diagnostic efficiency.MUSE-DWI sequence can identify be-nign and malignant BI-RADS 4 breast lesions,especially with an average signal intensity value of b=2 500 s/mm2,which has higher diagnostic efficiency.The high b-value diagnostic model based on MUSE-DWI can serve as an imaging tool for distin-guishing between benign and malignant breast lesions and BI-RADS 4 breast lesions.
