Effect of Different Recipient Factors on the Pregnancy Rate of Embryo Transfer in Dairy Cows

Abstract
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of different recipient factors on the pregnancy rate of embryo transfer(ET)in dairy cows.Totally 365 recipients received 1 of 2s estrus synchronization treatments,174 heifers and 136 cows were selected through rectal examination and used to ET.The day before ET,the corpus luteum(CL)sizes and progesterone(P4)levels were evaluated.The CL sizes and P4 levels were not different between the selected and unselected recipients.The pregnancy rates were higher in heifers than in cows(P＜0.05).The recipients with a CL larger than 1.5 cm showed statistically higher pregnancy rates.The pregnancy rate was higher than others when the plasma P4 levels were between 2.0 and 4.0 ng/mL(P＞0.05).Heifers with an optimal CL size and P4 level can increase the success rate of ET.关键词
