Abstract
[Objective]This study aims to understand the aerosol release characteristics of polyols in heated cigarettes.[Methods]Using an aerosol characteristics detector based on the light scattering principle,the scattered light intensity of aerosol from heated cigarettes containing polyols and composite polyols was analyzed.Under a glycerol-propylene glycol-butanediol composite system,the mass distribution patterns of the main components of heated cigarettes in different parts were studied,and the effect of heating temperature on the scattered light intensity of heated cigarette aerosol was investigated.[Results]1)In a single polyol system,the overall order of scattered light intensity of aerosol from heated cigarettes with five polyols was Glycerol>1,3-butanediol>1,2-propanediol>PEG400>PEG600.2)In composite polyol systems,the scattered light intensity of aerosol from heated cigarettes with composite polyols was significantly higher than that with single polyols,and at different heating temperatures,the scattered light intensity of aerosol from heated cigarettes with composite polyols was significantly greater than that from heated cigarettes with glycerol.3)The mass distribution of the main components in heated cigarettes with polyols varied significantly:water was mainly in the aerosol,nicotine was primarily in the filter cooling segment and the tobacco rod segment,glycerol was mainly in the tobacco rod segment,while 1,2-propylene glycol and 1,3-butanediol were mainly in the filter cooling segment.4)The release rate and transfer rate of composite polyols were significantly improved compared to glycerol,but the release synergy with nicotine was lower than that of glycerol.关键词
