Abstract
Dry eye is a condition caused by multiple factors leading to poor tear film stability and disruption of the periocular microenvironmental balance,resulting in ocular surface inflammatory reactions,tissue damage,neural dysfunction,and abnormal ocular sensations.The pathogenesis of dry eye remains incompletely understood in modern medicine,with artificial tear replacement therapy primarily used clinically to alleviate symptoms;however,long-term efficacy is suboptimal due to factors such as pharmaceutical formulations.Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)offers advantages including low treatment cost,diverse therapeutic approaches,and the integration of internal and external treatments,achieving favorable clinical outcomes.PANG Shouzeng,integrating classical TCM theory with extensive clinical experience,posits that the primary mechanisms of dry eye involve liver Qi stagnation,dampness obstructing the stomach,dysfunction of liver,spleen,and kidneys leading to malnourishment of the eyes,and heat pathogens scorching the ocular tissues.Guided by the PANG´s Ophthalmology theory that"eye diseases are often caused by stagnation",he incorporates visceral pathology into diagnosis and combines it with unique external therapies,achieving significant efficacy in treating dry eye.This article explores PANG Shouzeng´s clinical experience in dry eye treatment to provide references for clinical practice.关键词
