Preliminary Exploration of Guishao Dihuang Decoction in the Treatment of Wet Age-related Macular Degeneration with Liver-kidney Deficiency Based on the"Human Body Circular Motion"Theory

Abstract
The"Human Body Circular Motion"theory aligns with the concept of harmony between heaven and humanity,rooted in the imagery and numerology of the Hetu.It emphasizes the cyclical movement of the five elements(ascending,descending,floating,and sinking)as the fundamental form,where Qi,blood,and body fluids circulate to sustain life.This theory elucidates the physiological characteristics of the viscera,pathological mechanisms,and the principles of disease diagnosis and treatment.Wet age-related macular degeneration(wAMD)is a blinding disease characterized by pathological changes in the macular region despite normal external eye appearance.Liver-kidney deficiency type is the most common manifestation,primarily attributed to aging,with factors such as smoking,environment,and genetics also influencing its onset and progression.In Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)treatment,a holistic approach and syndrome differentiation are employed to prescribe medical formulas that alleviate symptoms.This requires comprehensive consideration of both ocular conditions and systemic Qi movement,applying the principles of diagnosis and treatment while tailoring individualized therapeutic plans based on patient characteristics.From the perspective of the"Human Body Circular Motion"theory,this paper analyzes the etiology and pathogenesis of liver-kidney deficiency-type wAMD and explores the advantages and application principles of Guishao Dihuang Decoction in its treatment,providing a theoretical framework for clinical management.关键词
