Efficacy of methylprednisolone sodium succinate combined with ganciclovir in treating child infectious mononucleosis and its impact on T lymphocyte subsets

Abstract
Objective To explore the efficacy of methylprednisolone sodium succinate(MP)combined with ganciclovir in the treatment of child infectious mononucleosis(IM)and its influence on T lymphocyte subsets.Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 106 children with IM admitted to Anqing Municipal Hospital from April 2022 to April 2023.Among them,53 cases were treated with ganciclovir on the basis of symptomatic treatment(control group),and 53 cases were treated with MP on the basis of the control group(observation group).The clinical efficacy,symptom relief time,levels of T lymphocyte subsets(CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+),laboratory indicators[white blood cell count(WBC),C-reactive protein(CRP),creatine kinase isoenzyme MB(CK-MB)],and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the relief time of each symptom was shorter than that of the control group,with statistically significant differences(all P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of CD4+and CD4+/CD8+in both groups were higher than those before treatment,while the level of CD8+was lower than that before treatment;compared with the control group,the observation group had higher levels of CD4+and CD4+/CD8+and lower level of CD8+after treatment,with statistically significant differences(all P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of WBC,CRP,and CK-MB in both groups were lower than those before treatment;compared with the control group,the observation group had lower levels of WBC,CRP,and CK-MB after treatment,with statistically significant differences(all P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion MP combined with ganciclovir can effectively relieve symptoms,enhance immune function and improve laboratory indicator levels of children with IM,with good safety and significant efficacy.关键词
