植物无义介导的RNA降解与病毒的制衡
A molecular tug-of-war between nonsense-mediated RNA decay and viruses in plants
摘要
Abstract
Nonsense-mediated RNA decay(NMD)is a conserved RNA quality control(RQC)mechanism in eukaryotes that modulates the accumulation of both abnormal and normal RNA transcripts.Mounting evidence indicates that NMD is an important antiviral defence mechanism in plants, targeting viral RNA for degradation to limit viral infections. However,in the arms race between plants and viruses, plant viruses have evolved multiple counter-strategies to evade, suppress,or even hijack NMD,thereby ensuring successful replication within host cells. In this review,we summarized the basic process of NMD pathway, the unique aspects of plant NMD,the roles of NMD in antiviral defense, and the various viral strategies to counteract NMD.Additionally,we discussed key outstanding questions and future research directions in this field.关键词
