Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relationship between glycated hemoglobin(HbA1C)levels and carotid plaque stability and carotid blood flow in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Method:100 cases of T2DM patients admitted to Putian No.1 Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects,and were divided into<7.0%group(32 cases),≥7.0%and<8.5%group(48 cases),and≥8.5%group(20 cases)based on the HbA1C level.All patients had their blood collected to test the levels of glycemic and lipid metabolism indexes,and carotid ultrasonography was carried out to clarify the carotid intima-media thickness(IMT),plaque score,and unstable plaque,and to determine the carotid blood flow parameters,including resistance to obstruction(RI),diastolic blood flow velocity(EDV),and peak systolic flow velocity(PSV).Result:Fasting glucose(FPG),total cholesterol(TC),triacylglycerol(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)were higher in the≥8.5%group than in the≥7.0%and<8.5%group,and in the<7.0%group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).IMT,plaque score,and carotid RI were higher in the≥8.5%group than in the≥7.0%and<8.5%group and<7.0%group,and EDV and PSV were lower than in the≥7.0%and<8.5%group and<7.0%group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of unstable plaques in the≥8.5%group was higher than that in the≥7.0%and<8.5%and<7.0%groups,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:HbA1C levels in T2DM patients are closely related to carotid plaque stability and carotid blood flow,and the higher the HbA1C level,the higher the risk of arteriopathy,which needs to be highly emphasized clinically and appropriate preventive and curative measures need to be taken.关键词
