A survey on indoor radio wave propagation characteristics and channel modeling in sub-THz band
摘要
Abstract
The study of radio wave propagation characteristics and channel modeling in the indoor sub-terahertz band is one of the key research areas in sixth-generation(6G)mobile communications.To comprehensively and accurately characterize electromagnetic wave propagation and develop high-performance indoor wireless channel models,this paper reviews the cur-rent research on the propagation characteristics and channel modeling in indoor environments under typical building materi-als in the sub-terahertz band.It summarizes the reflection and transmission characteristics of sub-terahertz waves through typical construction materials,methods for extracting the electromagnetic parameters(complex permittivity)of these mate-rials,and the latest developments in various modeling approaches,including deterministic,stochastic,hybrid,and data-driven models.It also reviews wireless channel characteristics across different indoor scenarios.In response to the shortage of measurement data,which hinders rapid and accurate characterization,the paper proposes clear technical routes from the perspectives of measurement systems,propagation models,and prediction models.Furthermore,it analyzes challenges such as the low generalizability of existing models and the difficulty of capturing full-band channel characteristics across diverse environments,offering insights into future directions in measurement systems,propagation analysis,and channel modeling.关键词
