Abstract

[Objective]In order to study the influence of different irrigation methods on the production performance of alfalfa(Medicago sativa L.)and the occurrence of weeds in the field.[Methods]The influences of different irrigation methods on the production performance of Medicago sativa L.as well as the species,density and plant height of field weeds were statistically monitored.[Results]Under different irrigation treatments,the hay yields of three cuttings of Medicago sativa L.under shallow buried drip irrigation were the highest,which were 6 036.90 kg/hm²,5 342.82 kg/hm²,and 3 061.80 kg/hm² respectively;followed by those of sprinkler irrigation(5 218.00 kg/hm²,5 138.87 kg/hm²,and 2 962.97 kg/hm² respectively),and flood irrigation(4 684.74 kg/hm²,4 490.42 kg/hm²,and 2 542.74 kg/hm² respectively).The field weeds mainly included Descurainia sophia,Chenopodium album,Convolvulus arvensis,and some weeds of Asteraceae and Polygonaceae family,etc.,under irrigation treatment.There were differences in the weed density in alfalfa fields under different irrigation treatments(P<0.05),and the weed density under shallow buried drip irrigation was the lowest,which was 190.3 plants/m².[Conclusion]Timely and appropriate shallow buried drip irrigation could reduce the occurrence of weed damage and decrease the loss in production performance caused by irrigation.
