Abstract

[Objective]Coal-fired coupled green ammonia combustion power generation technology is an innovative energy utilization mode.This path helps to reduce carbon emissions in the process of coal-fired power generation,and provides a new development idea and technical path for the wide application of clean energy in the future.The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of coal-fired coupling green ammonia combustion power generation technology.[Methods]Based on the green ammonia coupling transformation of the existing 125 MW coal-fired power plant,a coal-fired coupled green ammonia combustion power generation system model was successfully built on Aspen Plus.In this model,part of the coal in the original coal-fired system is replaced by green ammonia into the boiler combustion.According to the calculation results,the thermal efficiency,carbon emission and economy of the coupling unit are analyzed.[Results]The research shows that the coal-fired coupling green ammonia combustion power generation technology has little effect on the thermodynamic performance of the original coal-fired system.With the increase of the coupling ratio,the thermal efficiency of the coupling system gradually decreases.When the coupling ratio is 30%,the thermal efficiency of the coupling system is reduced to 36.04%,a decrease of 0.20%.The coal-fired coupling green ammonia combustion power generation technology can effectively reduce the carbon emission of the coal-fired system.With the increase of the coupling ratio,the total carbon emission and carbon emission intensity of the coupling system are significantly reduced.When the coupling ratio is 30%,the total carbon emission and carbon emission intensity of the coupling system are reduced to 76.71 t/h and 674.2 g/(kW·h),which are reduced by 29.98%and 29.58%,respectively.As the coupling ratio increases,the fixed capital investment(FCI)and levelized cost of electricity(LCOE)of the coupled system increase.When the coupling ratio is 30%,the FCI of the coupling system increases from CNY 716.390 6 million to CNY 2 112.446 2 million,and the LCOE increases from CNY 0.39/(kW·h)to CNY 0.61/(kW·h).[Conclusion]In the future,with the gradual reduction of green ammonia price and the gradual establishment of carbon trading mechanism and carbon pricing mechanism,the coupling green ammonia combustion power generation technology of coal-fired units will provide strong support for the low-carbon transformation of coal-fired units.
