Application of Biodiversity and Pedigree Diversity in Monitoring and Evaluation of Insect Diversity in Farmland Habitats:A Case Study From Typical Hilly Farmland Area in Jiangsu Province

Abstract
Studying the utilisation status of insect communities on farmland habitat types can help to deeply understand the potential relationship between farmland habitat types and the dynamic evolution of insect communities,and provide a theoretical basis for the healthy cultivation and high quality development of farmland crops.In this study,from June 2021 to October 2024,we monitored and investigated the changes of insect diversity and community fluctuations in the habitats of paddy fields,vegetable fields,orchards,and tea gardens in the agricultural cultivation areas of Daizhuang Village,Zhenjiang City,Jiangsu Province,and Xinkang Village,Changzhou City,Jiangsu Province,by using the sample line method and the sample point method.Insect community diversity indices,including richness,multiplicity,Shannon Wiener's diversity index,Simpson's diversity index,and evenness index,were used to characterise the species diversity of the communities,as well as spectral diversity to elucidate the differences in the diversity of insect communities in various habitats of the agricultural cultivation area.At the same time,the multivariate weighted mean pairwise pedigree distance(MPD)was used to characterise the community's pedigree structure,to explore the mechanisms of insect community construction to understand the ecological processes and dynamics of insect communities,and to quantify the correlation between the diversity indicators.Species richness was highest in organic rice fields and lowest in conventional vegetable fields.Species in organic paddy field,conventional paddy field,organic orchard,conventional orchard,organic vegetable field,conventional vegetable field,organic tea garden,and conventional tea garden were more distantly related to each other than randomly expected,and showed community dispersal,which was mainly affected by interspecific competition,while the Xinkang base showed community aggregation,which was mainly affected by habitat filtering.Studying the diversity and ecological factors of insect communities in farmland habitats can help to grasp the relationship between habitat types and insect communities in farmland,and provide theoretical help for better development of organic agricultural production.关键词
