Abstract

At present,the thrust of Tunnel Boring Machine(TBM)and single disc cutter of the shield are generally calculated by dividing the total thrust by the number of cutterhead disc cutters in engineering.This method can't re-flect the force difference of disc cutters at different installation positions,and doesn't take into account the influ-ence of shield friction,rear supporting tension and other factors on the thrust of single disc cutter.In order to accu-rately measure the three-way load of the disc cutter,the disc cutter load monitoring system developed by the research group was installed on the dual-mode shield machine in the Baoqian section of the Suiguan-Shenzhen intercity.The system collected the disc cutter load rotating along the tunnel face in real time,and continuously monitored more than 50 rings of shield tunneling.The disc cutter load at different monitoring positions was calculated to verify the functions of the disc cutter load monitoring system.Combined with tunnel face mapping sheet,it is found that the joints and falling blocks on the working face have a significant reaction in the real-time disc cutter load.When the disc cutter passes through the joint area,the positive force is significantly reduced to below 50 kN.The accuracy and reliability of the disc cutter load monitoring system are verified by comparing the measured load with the calcu-lated load of the disc cutter under different rock mass conditions.The results can provide a basis for the design of disc cutter and cutter head,and the identification of rock mass conditions on the working face.
