Testing and Analysis of Vibration Reduction Effect of Combined Resilient Under Sleeper Pad and Under Ballast Mat in Metro Depot

Abstract
Currently,there are limited studies in China on the application of the combination of resilient under sleeper pad(USP)and under ballast mat(UBM)in metro depots.To verify the actual vibration reduction effect of the first application of the combination of resilient USP and UBM in a metro depot of Xi'an,a field test was conducted in the turnout zone of the test line.The test plan involved installing acceleration sensors at the bottom of the rail,on the sleeper,and on the ground approximately 7.5 m from the track centerline in the turnout zone of the test line.The vertical vibration acceleration responses generated by the train running under speeds of 30 to 60 km/h were measured,with the entire test conducted using the same B-type metro train.Based on the measured data,the maximum peak values of vertical acceleration in the time domain and the vibration acceleration levels at different measurement points under different train speeds were analyzed.In the frequency domain,the 1/3 octave band vibration level,Z level,and insertion loss were analyzed to evaluate the actual vibration reduction performance of the combined measures.The analysis results showed that:(1)after implementing the combined measures of vibration reduction,the vibrations of the turnout rail and sleeper became consistent within the frequency range of 1~80 Hz,while exhibiting a certain level of vibration suppression on both the rail and sleeper within certain frequency bands.The main frequency bands for vibration reduction of the rail and sleeper in the switch zone were above 100 Hz and 25 Hz,respectively,while the vibration reduction effect on the rail and sleeper in the frog zone was primarily exerted at high frequencies above 250 Hz.(2)For ground vibrations approximately 7.5 m from the track centerline,the effective vibration reduction frequency band of the combined measures was mainly above 16 Hz,and the maximum Z-level insertion loss within the 1~80 Hz range was 16.9~17.5 dB,meeting the 15 dB vibration reduction target proposed in the environmental impact assessment report.As the train speed increased from 30 km/h to 60 km/h,the vibration reduction effect improved and also became effective in the low-frequency range.(3)After implementing the combined measures,the maximum Z-level at the ground measurement points ranged from 52.2 dB to 57.1 dB,which was lower than the daytime limit of 70 dB for residential and cultural-educational areas specified in GB 10070-1988.The findings verify the actual vibration reduction performance of the USP and UBM combination,indicating its applicability in the field of metro vibration and noise mitigation engineering.关键词
