A Study on the Quantity Values of Medicinal Weights in Shang Han Za Bing Lun
摘要
Abstract
Due to the changes in the measurement system of weights throughout Chinese history,the dosage of ancient prescriptions recorded in the book Shang Han Za Bing Lun(《伤寒杂病论》Treatise on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases)has become one of the important tasks for medical practitioners of successive dynasties to verify,since the completion of the book by medical expert Zhang Zhongjing(张仲景)during the Eastern Han Dynasty.There is still a lack of systematic evidence to form a consensus so far.On the basis of the research on ancient weight systems,this article further studies two aspects:the description of the unchanged small-scale weight system in medical records throughout history and the dosage of ancient prescriptions using Gui Zhi Tang(桂枝汤Cinnamon Twig Decoction)as an example.It is verified that medical practitioners throughout history have followed the small-scale weight system of ancient prescriptions and have converted the dosage of Gui Zhi Tang based on textual research.The study is expected to form the basis of further empirical research on medicinal dosage.关键词
