摘要

Abstract

Spermatogenesis is the core physiological process of male reproduction,and its dysfunction can lead to reduced animal fertility.Recent studies have found that ferroptosis,as a novel form of iron-dependent,lipid peroxidation-driven programmed cell death,has significant impact in male reproductive dysfunction and spermatogenic disorders.Ferroptosis can regulate the apoptosis of germ cell,the dysfunction of Sertoli cell,and the damage to the blood-testis barrier by modulating the activity of glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4),iron metabolism disorders,and the accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS),thereby affecting the efficiency of spermatogenesis and sperm quality.This article systematically discusses the key molecular mechanisms and characteristics of ferroptosis,with a particular focus on its potential role in spermatogenic disorders and male infertility.It also summarizes intervention strategies targeting the ferroptosis pathway,providing a theoretical basis for a deeper understanding of the role of ferroptosis in male reproduction and to offer new insights and strategies for enhancing the reproductive performance of breeding males.
