Abstract

To obtain Fe-based medium-carbon low-alloy semi-hard magnetic steels with high residual magnetic flux density Br,five distinct heat treatment processes are employed:full annealing,air quenching(AQ),water quenching(WQ),air quenching followed by tempering(AQ&T),and water quenching followed by tempering(WQ&T).The microstructural evolution and corresponding changes in magnetic properties are systematically investigated by using SEM,EBSD,XRD,and magnetic measurement techniques.The results show that rapid cooling after austenitization forms martensite,and subsequent tempering transforms it into tempered troostite,achieving optimal magnetic properties:a maximum working magnetic induction Bm=1.819 T,residual magnetic flux density Br=1.49 T,and an exceptionally high remanence ratio(Br/Bm).Compared to full annealing,the water quenching and tempering(WQ&T)process increases the residual magnetic flux density Br of the experimental steel by 65%and enhances the remanence ratio from 0.57 to 0.82,approaching the theoretical limit for polycrystalline materials.Furthermore,combined with the experimental results,the influence of microstructural evolution factors on magnetic properties is analyzed and discussed through heat treatment process regulation.It provides guidance for heat treatment of medium-carbon low-alloy semi-hard magnetic steels with high remanence characteristics.
