Research on Regional Differences and Spatiotemporal Convergence of China's New Quality Productivity

Abstract
As China's economy enters a stage of high－quality development,the cultivation and development of new quality productivity has become a key factor in promoting the transformation and upgrading of the regional economy.However,there are significant differences in the level of development of new quality productivity between regions,which have become a constraint on the coordinated development of the national economy.Therefore,this article focuses on the regional differences,space－time evolu⁃tion and convergence of the new quality productivity in China's four major regions from 2012 to 2024,in order to provide a scientific basis for regional coordinated development policies.Dagum Gini coefficient decomposition method,Markov chain method and space－ time convergence model are used for analysis.The results show that China's new quality productivity has been steadily rising as a whole,but the development between regions is unbalanced,showing the distribution characteristics of"high in the east and low in the west".Dagum Gini coefficient decomposition shows that the average contribution rate of interregional differences is as high as 70.42%,which is the main source of overall differences.The Markov chain shows that the new quality productivity level of each province has strong stability.Under the influence of the spatial spillover effect,provinces with low or lower levels of new productivi⁃ty tend to remain in their original state when they are spatially adjacent,and are less likely to move to higher levels.When low－le⁃vel and low－level provinces are adjacent to medium－high or high－level provinces,there is a probability of upward transfer,but the probability of maintaining the original state is higher.In terms of convergence,the new quality productivity of each region shows di⁃vergent characteristics,and the regional gap continues to widen.At the same time,there is a significant spatial spillover effect in various regions.The eastern and central regions are manifested by negative spatial overflow,and regional competition is fierce.The western and northeast regions show positive spatial spillover,with significant regional synergies.关键词
