Abstract
This study analyzed the implementation status of full-process mechanization of sugarcane production in Longchuan County,Yunnan Province,and its impact on production efficiency and economic benefits.It explored the importance of advancing full mechanization to address issues inherent in traditional manual production methods,such as high labor intensity,elevated labor costs,and low production efficiency.Based on the current state of sugarcane cultivation and mechanized production in Longchuan County,statistical analysis and comparison of actual production data between full-process mechanization and manual methods were conducted.Production processes and material costs were comprehensively considered to visually demonstrate the differences in efficiency and economic outcomes between the two approaches.Additionally,by analyzing the proportion of cost savings and efficiency gains from full-process mechanization of production relative to sugarcane output value,as well as simulating the labor and cost savings benefits resulting from a 1％increase in the mechanization rate at each production stage,the advantages of full-process mechanization were further validated.The results indicate that full-process mechanization of sugarcane production in Longchuan County exhibits significant advantages over manual methods in both efficiency and economic benefits.Mechanized production requires only 12.9 labor-days per hectare,compared to 199.2 labor-days per hectare for manual production,representing 15.44 times more efficient than manual labor.In terms of costs,the operational expense for mechanized production is 11 691 yuan/hm2,accounting for 27.97％of sugarcane output value,while manual production costs reach 21 196.15 yuan/hm2(50.70％of output value).Mechanization thus reduces costs by 9 505.15 yuan/hm2,equivalent to 22.74％of the output value.Furthermore,a 1％increase in mechanization rates across all production stages county-wide would lead to significant additional labor savings,cost reduction,and efficiency grains.Promoting full-process mechanization of sugarcane production is identified as a key pathway to enhance production quality and efficiency.This approach not only effectively resolves issues of high labor intensity,excessive labor demand,and labor shortages in sugarcane cultivation but also achieves labor savings,reduces production costs,and improves economic returns.Simultaneously,it facilitates the promotion of appropriately scaled operations,realizing economies of scale and ensuring the sustainable development of sugarcane production.关键词
