Numerical study of the flow field around artificial reef lay-outs at offshore wind farms

Abstract
Focusing on the Three Gorges 300 MW offshore wind power integration pilot project in Changyi,Shan-dong Province,this study explores a novel model for integrating offshore wind farms with marine ranching.This study investigates the types of artificial reefs deployed around offshore wind turbine foundations to enhance the synergy between wind power generation and marine ranching.Using computational fluid dynamics and fluent nu-merical simulations,this study analyzes the impact of flow fields around offshore wind turbine foundations and artificial reefs.It examines the influence of varying configurations,such as the scale of artificial reefs,the distance between foundations(G/D),and the longitudinal(T/L)and lateral(P/L)spacing between reefs,on flow dynamics.The findings indicate that increasing G/D and P/L considerably enhances upwelling and reduces uneven shear stress distribution.In contrast,larger T/L improves shear stress uniformity but may increase local wake vortices,poten-tially affecting structural stability.This study deepens the understanding of the dynamic interactions between off-shore wind turbines and artificial reefs,providing scientific guidance for the integrated development of offshore wind farms and marine ranching.The proposed integration model offers new insights and approaches for the sus-tainable utilization of marine resources and ecosystem conservation in China.关键词
