Analysis of Price Differentiation in the Watermelon Industry from the Perspective of Market Structure Changes
摘要
Abstract
Based on the analytical framework of industrial organization theory and price data for different watermel-on varieties from 2021 to 2024,this study examines the price differentiation phenomenon in the watermelon industry amid market structure evolution.Data analysis reveals that:the price differential between premium and traditional varieties has increased significantly from 27.5%in 2021 to 52.8%in 2024,indicating a deepening market price stratification;Second, premium varieties demonstrate notably higher price stability compared to traditional varieties which exhibit grea-ter price volatility, illustrating distinctive characteristics in price stability across market segments. The study concludes that the integration of the watermelon industry chain can effectively enhance the traditional price formation mechanism. The price stability of premium varieties can be improved by establishing a standardized quality control system, along with stable production and marketing connections. The implementation of this organizational model reflects the significant im-pact of industry chain integration on the price formation mechanism. The price differentiation in the watermelon indus-try has enhanced the overall stability of the industry, different market segments have developed differentiated price formation mechanisms, preventing homogeneous price collapse across the entire industry;following these market stratification patterns, this paper proposes a'gradual integration'approach that promotes industrial structure optimi-zation by reducing transformation barriers for traditional varieties through modular industry chain integration.关键词
