Clinical Efficacy of Wuwei Kushen Enteric-Coated Capsules Combined with Bacillus Licheniformis Capsules in Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis

Abstract
Objective To explore the efficacy of Wuwei Kushen enteric-coated capsules combined with bacillus licheniformis capsules in the treatment of ulcerative colitis(UC).Methods A total of 96 patients with mild to moderate UC admitted to our hospital from January 2023 to June 2024 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into a control group and an observation group according to the random number table method,with 48 cases in each group.The control group was treated with oral mesalazine enteric-coated tablets,while the observation group was treated with oral Wuwei Kushen enteric-coated capsules com-bined with bacillus licheniformis capsules.The efficacy was evaluated after 12 weeks of continuous treatment in both groups.Results After treatment,the modified Mayo scores,endoscopic Mayo scores,CRP,and ESR levels in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).When comparing the two groups after treatment,the above indexes in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the colony counts of enterococci,lactobacilli,and bifidobacteria in the intestines of patients in both groups were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05).When comparing the two groups after treatment,the above colony counts in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate(72.92%)and intestinal mucosal healing rate(52.08%)in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(52.08%,39.58%)(P<0.05).Conclusion Oral treatment of UC with Wuwei Kushen enteric-coated capsules combined with bacil-lus licheniformis capsules can reduce the body's inflammatory response,regulate the intestinal flora,further achieve intestinal mucosal healing,and improve the clinical efficacy.关键词
