Abstract

Taking the gas pipelines affected by land subsidence in Biguiyuan Community,Balitai Town,Tianjin as a case study,a comprehensive assessment of the pipeline pressure-bearing capacity was conducted before gas supply restoration,including risk analysis,excavation verification,professional institution testing,and pipeline pressure testing,to ensure the safety of gas supply.Based on on-site investigation,Biguiyuan Community was divided into high-risk,medium-risk,and low-risk areas according to the conditions of the ground,buildings,and service pipes.Field practice demonstrates that this classification is reasonable.The results of macro-deformation testing indicate that the pipeline in the high-risk area,located south of Balitai East Road,outside Building 39,exhibits obvious defor-mation and no longer meets the conditions for contin-ued use.In contrast,out-of-roundness testing results show no obvious deformation such as bending or flat-tening caused by subsidence.Similarly,wall thickness testing results indicate no obvious deformation such as tensile thinning or extrusion thickening caused by sub-sidence.Joint defect testing also found no cracks or splits attributable to subsidence.The results of physi-cal and chemical property testing on the tee of Building 6 in Yitao and the pipeline in the south of Balitai East Road(outside Building 39)show that the elongation at break of the pipe material,the oxidation induction time of the pipe material,and the static hydraulic pressure of the electrofusion joints all meet the standard require-ments.Therefore,the pipe materials and joints are deemed suitable for continued service.The pressure test results for buried pipelines show that after renova-tion,the tightness test of gas pipelines in medium-risk and low-risk areas is qualified,and they are eligible for resuming gas supply.
