Abstract
Genglubu of the South China Sea,as a national-level intangible cultural heritage,was formed during the Ming and Qing dynasties.It served as the navigational aid for Hainan fishermen traveling between the coastal areas of mainland China and the South China Sea islands and demonstrated their awareness of marine culture and further confirmed the indisputable sovereignty of the Chinese government over the South China Sea islands and their adjacent waters.Genglubu of the South China Sea embodies the historical accumulation of a sense of a community for the Chinese nation,which is specifically manifested in three dimensions:cultural genes,social functions,and civilizational value.It provides historical depth and cultural resilience for strengthening a sense of a community for the Chinese nation in contemporary times,and verifies the eternal proposition that"guarding the sea is guarding the territory".关键词
