Abstract

In the satellite Internet of Things(IoT)scenario,when sensors are directly connected to satellites,the uplink data link experiences severe signal attenuation and variable transmission delays,leading to a significantly higher packet loss rate compared to terrestrial networks.Aiming at the problems,a novel satellite data spread spectrum transmission scheme based on fountain codes is proposed,which integrates fountain codes with spread spectrum transmission technology.By employing physical-layer coding to construct an equivalent erasure channel,the relationship between the corresponding erasure probability,signal-to-noise ratio and packet loss rate is derived and applied to the uplink transmission channel of the satellite-ground link.Firstly,a forward error correction(FEC)code-based spread spectrum simulation experiment is conducted.Subsequently,spread spectrum transmission experiments are performed using traditional Luby Transform(LT)codes and the latest RaptorQ codes,respectively.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a significantly lower bit error rate(BER)across the entire transmission system compared to conventional FEC code-based transmission schemes when the SNR exceeds 2.5 dB,in burst access scenarios.Among these methods,the spread spectrum fountain codes exhibits the best performance.In addition,in the spread spectrum simulation results for LT codes and RaptorQ codes,under identical decoding redundancy conditions,the spread spectrum fountain codes are implemented.When the decoding redundancy reached 0.20,the average BER of LT codes is 0.700%,comparatively,the average BER of spread spectrum LT codes decrease to 0.010%,the average BER of spread spectrum RaptorQ codes is further reduced to only 0.003%.Additionally,under the same number of burst access users,the access delay of spread spectrum RaptorQ codes is approximately 10%lower than that of spread spectrum LT codes.
