RESEARCH ON THE APPLICATION OF CHINESE OPERA COSTUME SYMBOLS IN NEO-CHINESE STYLE FASHION DESIGN

Abstract
This paper systematically explores the transformation mechanism of Chinese opera costume symbols in Neo-Chinese fashion based on Peirce's semiotic theory.It analyzes the signifier-signified relationships within the semiotic subsystems of color,patterns,and silhouettes,decoding the internal correlation between their traditional symbolic logic and modern semantic reconstruction.The study reveals that opera costume symbols embody both the representation of traditional ideology and potential for modern innovation.In contemporary design,a dual reconstruction can be achieved through the path of"semiotic deconstruction-semantic transformation-functional adaptation":adjusting colors and materials to break the hierarchical symbolism of primary colors and endow them with modern narrative meanings;using abstract techniques and innovative craftsmanship to dismantle the power semantics of patterns and reshape them into fashionable decorative elements;integrating Chinese and Western tailoring to transform stage silhouettes into daily practical styles.This semiotic translation enriches the cultural connotations and visual expressions of Neo-Chinese fashion,providing theoretical and practical references for the living heritage inheritance and development of the fashion industry,and promoting the meaning reproduction and sustainable development of traditional culture in modern design.关键词
