Abstract

The porous environment of heavy oil reservoirs was simulated by using quartz,dolomite,CaCO3,clay,montmorillonite,and illite.The oil products,catalysts,and minerals before and after heavy oil modification in reservoir minerals were characterized by XRD,FTIR,GC-MS,SEM,EDX,and elemental analysis.The effects of different reservoir minerals on the in-situ hydrothermal modification of heavy oil in the presence of nano-Fe2O3 catalyst were studied.The experimental results show that in terms of heavy oil modification effect,the three reservoirs can be sorted in descending order:carbonate reservoir>clay reservoir>quartz reservoir.In the carbonate reservoir,CaCO3 shows the best hydrothermal modification effect.Carbonates mainly promote the modification of heavy oil by anti-carbonization,promoting cracking and gasification and catalytic action at the central site to break the chain and hydrogenate.Clay minerals have rich acid centers and promote catalytic modification by utilizing the cation and organic ion exchange capacity.The dispersion of nano-Fe2O3 by quartz sand improves the heavy oil modification effect.
