Abstract
The study investigates the moiré pattern arises in LED virtual production due to the regular pixel array of digital camera sensors.Leveraging the fact that film's photochemical imaging process can inherently eliminate moiré,we con-ducted systematic tests both on the dance-film Red Radio Over Shanghai and in controlled laboratory conditions,compar-ing the performance of Eastman Kodak Vision3 film stock with that of the ARRI ALEXA Mini digital camera in terms of moiré,color rendition,and dynamic range.On set and lab results confirm that film captured results will not have moiré when shooting LED screen,and the scanned film images could be closely matched to footage acquired directly by the digi-tal camera.The research demonstrates that film-based LED virtual production completely eradicates moiré and outper-forms digital capture in recording highlight detail on LED screen.Through color grading,cross-media consistency between film and digital assets can be achieved,positioning film as a complementary solution to all-digital workflows.The findings provide a technical reference for optimizing hybrid-media virtual production pipelines.关键词
