浅谈视路系统疾病重在"从肝论治"
A Brief Discussion on Treating Visual Pathway Disorders with Emphasis on"Liver-focused Therapy"

Abstract
Visual pathway disorders encompass a variety of diseases ranging from the retina to the occipital visual cortex,with complex and diverse etiologies.In Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)theory,eyes are closely related to liver.This article reviews ancient medical texts to elucidate the theoretical basis of the connection between visual pathway disorders and liver from the perspectives of visceral syndrome differentiation and meridian theory.It also compiles modern clinical and fundamental research literature to discuss the current status of"liver-focused therapy"for visual pathway disorders.Taking cortical blindness as an example in clinical treatment strategies,the article proposes that the visual pathway is nourished by Qi and blood of the viscera,and pathogenic factors affecting heart,liver,and kidney meridians can all impact the visual pathway.Therefore,while liver-focused therapy is emphasized in treating visual pathway disorders,it should not be the sole approach.Instead,regulating liver should serve as the core,complemented by clearing liver heat,calming liver Yang,soothing liver Qi,and nourishing liver blood,while also addressing spleen,kidney,heart,and gallbladder to achieve optimal clinical efficacy.Finally,the article highlights the experience of contemporary renowned TCM practitioners in skillfully using Xiaoyao Powder and its modified formulas to treat various eye conditions such as dry eye,corneal ulcers,and retinitis pigmentosa,demonstrating that liver-focused therapy is not only applicable to visual pathway disorders but can also be extended to a wide range of ophthalmic diseases.关键词
